Safe Bathtubs are the Best for a Nursing Home
Home and Garden November 15th, 2011I work in a nursing home for the elderly, where nurses and assistants help care for seniors. In the facility, we had traditional shower rooms with anti-slip floor mats and grip handles installed. Because of studies that show how well warm baths can benefit the health, our director decided to have one installed.
First we had a custom walk-in tub delivered and installed into one of the rooms. It took only a day for us to see the finished project. It looked really cool with a seat that is just wide and comfortable. Plus, there were customizable jets that we can set to the preference of seniors.
We decided to try having one of the elderly take a bath in it, and after just a week, we noticed his stiff joints were getting better. And it also appears that he is more relaxed and calm and less angry (which he almost often was before the bath). Our director was so pleased that he is now working on the budget to try to have more of those safe bathtubs for our home.
